Alpha of the Millennium
Alpha of the Millennium really leaned into the angst, and honestly, that’s what kept me hooked. There’s so much emotional tension running through this book that it almost hurts, but in a way that makes you keep reading anyway.
What I liked most is how messy the feelings are. Nothing comes easy, the characters are constantly at odds with what they want versus what they think they should do, and that push and pull creates nonstop frustration in the best way. I found myself rooting for them while also wanting to yell at them to just figure it out already.
The angst isn’t just there for drama either, it actually drives the story and the character growth. If you love emotional turmoil, slow burns that make you suffer a little, and romances that don’t hand you happiness on a silver platter, this one definitely delivers
