Hooked
Hooked was such a fun read for me, especially because I love dark fairytale retellings. It takes something familiar and completely flips it into something twisted, dangerous, and way more intense than the original story.
Hook is unapologetically dark and morally questionable, which is exactly what I want from this kind of retelling. The obsession, the power plays, and the slow unraveling of the romance kept me hooked the whole time. It’s not trying to be sweet or redeem everyone, and I appreciated that it fully committed to the darker tone.
What really worked for me was the vibe. It feels gritty, dramatic, and just unhinged enough without going over the top. The chemistry is strong, the tension stays high, and the fairytale elements woven into the story made it even more enjoyable.
If you like dark romance and fairytale retellings that lean villain over hero, Hooked is a really entertaining read. Definitely one I’d recommend if you enjoy familiar stories with a much darker edge.
