Hidden Pictures
I really wanted to like Hidden Pictures, but it just didn’t land for me. The beginning had promise and the setup was interesting enough to keep me reading. The creepy drawings definitely add to the atmosphere at first and made me feel like something unsettling was coming.
But as the story went on, the tension never fully paid off. It stayed slow without ever getting truly scary, and by the time the big reveal happened, I felt more underwhelmed than shocked. The ending especially fell flat for me. After all that buildup, I was expecting something stronger or more memorable, and it just wasn’t.
The illustrations are probably the most interesting part of the book, but they ended up doing more work than the story itself. I finished it feeling like it had potential that never quite came together.
If you enjoy subtle thrillers and creepy vibes over big twists, this might work better for you. For me, it was fine while reading but ultimately forgettable, and the ending really sealed that feeling.
