Pretty Girls
Let me be honest. This book put me through it. Pretty Girls is intense, graphic, and relentless, and there were multiple moments where I was fully prepared to tap out and walk away for my own peace.
The narration is solid and committed, which honestly made it worse in some ways because everything felt so vivid. Nothing is implied. Nothing is softened. Every disturbing detail is laid right out in front of you and my face was doing that constant cringe thing like please stop talking but also I need to know what happens.
This is not a casual thriller. It is heavy, dark, and emotionally exhausting. I kept listening out of stubbornness more than enjoyment, because once you are in, you kind of need closure. The story just keeps piling on the trauma, the cruelty, and the shock value until it feels like a lot a lot.
By the time I reached the end, I was over it. Not confused. Not surprised. Just tired. I sat there thinking okay yes I get it, please release me now.
If you like extremely dark thrillers with no filter and a high tolerance for disturbing content, this audiobook will probably hit. But if you are even slightly sensitive to graphic material, consider this your warning. Pretty Girls is well written and well performed, but for me, it was an endurance test and I was very ready for it to be done.
