The Last Mrs. Parrish
Okay, this book is a slow burn, but in a very intentional way. At first, you’re kind of just watching things unfold and thinking, alright, I see where this is going. You’re learning about this woman who desperately wants a life she doesn’t have, and you can feel her envy and ambition from the jump.
Then about halfway through, the book completely shifts. And when I say shifts, I mean suddenly you’re rethinking everything you just read. Characters you thought you understood start looking very different, and the story gets a lot darker and more uncomfortable than you expect.
What really stuck with me is how much this book messes with perception. It plays with power, control, and what things look like from the outside versus what’s actually happening behind closed doors. Some parts are frustrating, some are satisfying, and some will make you angry in a very intentional way.
It’s not fast paced in a thriller, nonstop twists kind of way, but it is gripping once it clicks. If you like stories about manipulation, revenge, and quietly toxic relationships, this one is worth the read. Just be patient at the start. The payoff is where it really shines.
